Get to know Josh.

Josh brings an analytical mindset and a personal approach to financial planning. Originally from the Buffalo area, he came to the Rochester region to attend SUNY Geneseo, where he initially studied physics. His interest in understanding how things work and solving complex problems eventually led him to a career helping people make sense of their finances.

For Josh, the numbers are only part of the conversation. Understanding your priorities, concerns, and vision for the future is what makes those numbers meaningful. He takes time to get to know you, explain your options, and help you work through decisions with greater clarity.

Josh also brings a strong interest in technology to his practice, exploring tools that support thoughtful analysis and a more efficient client experience.

Outside the office, Josh lives in Avon with his wife, Katie, their two dogs, and a chinchilla.

A practical approach. A personal connection.

Josh particularly enjoys working with people approaching retirement, when there is still time to make meaningful adjustments before the transition.

He also works with business owners and engineers who appreciate a structured approach to solving problems. Whether you enjoy digging into the details or prefer help understanding the bigger picture, Josh meets you where you are and builds the conversation around what matters to you.

Retirement starts with a different question.

“When can I retire?” is one of the questions Josh hears most often. His response starts with understanding what you want retirement to look like.

Will you travel more? Spend time with family? Continue working on your own terms? Your answers help define what your plan needs to support.

Markets will move up, down, and sideways, and no one can predict every turn. Josh’s approach emphasizes the decisions you can influence: how you save, how you invest, how you draw income, and how taxes fit into the picture. A personalized financial plan provides a foundation for connecting those decisions and adjusting as life changes.

Thoughtful planning for the decisions ahead.

Considering The Impact of Taxes

What you keep matters alongside what you earn. Josh incorporates tax considerations into the planning process, coordinating with your tax professional as appropriate to evaluate how today’s decisions may affect your finances over time.

Bringing Your Financial Picture Together

Your accounts may serve different purposes, but they should work toward a shared set of goals. Josh looks at how the pieces fit together, helping you understand the trade-offs behind your financial decisions.

Preparing for Retirement

The years leading up to retirement offer an opportunity to evaluate your progress, identify gaps, and consider adjustments. Josh helps you connect your savings and investments with your anticipated income needs and the retirement you envision.

Navigating a New Chapter

The loss of a spouse or the end of a marriage can bring unfamiliar financial responsibilities. Josh offers a patient, organized approach to understanding your situation, establishing priorities, and taking the next steps at a pace that feels manageable.

What to expect when you work with Josh's team.

1. Discovery: Get to know each other
The first conversation is about you—your life, your goals, and the questions that brought you here. It’s also an opportunity to get to know Josh and decide whether his approach feels like the right fit.

2. Profile: Build your financial picture
Together, you’ll gather and review the details, including your income, savings, investments, retirement accounts, and obligations. This provides the foundation for identifying priorities and exploring options.

3. Strategies: Connect the details to your goals
Josh walks you through potential strategies, explains the trade-offs, and helps you understand how each decision fits into your broader plan.

4. Implementation: Put your plan into action
Once you’ve agreed on a direction, Josh helps coordinate the next steps to put your strategies in place.

Meet the team.
